I applied to law schools and so far I have received three rejection letters. I'm still waiting for two more law schools to respond. Wouldn't it be sad/funny if my rejection or acceptance letter got lost in the mail? And then I'll be hanging on the edge, not knowing whether they rejected or accepted me. :terrified I'm so frustrated with waiting. I'm already looking at other grad schools.

my letters came thus rejection - regular mail, acceptance via certified mail. I assume that Law school does similar - too important to get lost!!

wow, good luck! i don't know anything about grad school acceptances, but my college acceptances came in big envelopes (regular mail) and rejections came in little envelopes (regular mail).. it'd be funny if it was bulk mail

Told my dad about your situation. He graduated from Brooklyn Law and is a highly reputable criminal defense attorney in Brooklyn. He says to keep your chin up. :)

My business school acceptance came in a regular envelope, regular mail, just a one-page letter.

All my rejection letters for law school came in regular-sized envelopes. I haven't seen any big envelopes yet.

My acceptance to grad school came in a fat envelope... look for quantity! Also, if you are still being considered they will take longer!

Uh-oh....if I'm still being considered, maybe I shouldn't have emailed the school and asked them what was my status. :ut-oh: :embarass: I got worried because one of my friends got the acceptance letter for one of the schools I'm waiting for. He already got a notice that the school is having an Open House for Admitted Students starting March 1!

I just called one of the law schools I'm waiting for. They told me that the committee hasn't made a decision yet and there will be another open house for admitted students probably after March. So it's good to know that they haven't finished sending out acceptance letters. :D

Guess what happened???!!! My worst nightmare came true!!:yikes: One of my rejection letters really did get lost in the mail!!!! I had to call them up to find out that a decision had been sent out on Jan. 23!!! They had the wrong address in their computer. They're going to resend the letter to me to the correct address. This is so sad. I'm not sad that I got rejected. I'm sad because my worst nightmare came true!!! :( :bawl: When I get the letter, I'm going to shred it like I did with all my other rejection letters. It's just an act of cleansing and purging I like to go through whenever I get rejected. I feel better afterwards anyway. But I'm still lost. :( Now I don't know what to do. Should I be a college professor in sociology or a high school history teacher?? Hmmmmmm......
Do any of you think that taking a year off before going to grad school is a good idea? What should I do if I take a year off?

i don't know what you'd do, but i know *plenty* of people who have taken a year off before grad school - it can be a good recuperative/self-gathering period too

i agree. after being in school for 16 years straight (more or less), you deserve a break. maybe take a semester off, make a little money, and see how you like it. then go for the year ;)

Did you ever get into law school? I am applying this year. Where did you apply? When did you find out?
