I HATE MORNINGS, well I take that Back, I actually enjoy a part of the morning . . . but unfortunatly that part happens to be between 2 and 4 am, not a time I can see very often. I never knew how right good ole garfield was about monday mornings, but I think I can extend that into mornings in general. I absolutly hate getting out of bed, and i am like a walking zombie all morning. I have come to the realization that there are morning people and there are non morning people . . . I am definatly NOT a morning person. :sheep:

looks like somebody's got a case of the mondays!

:D sorry, i couldn't resist

i totally agree though... it takes a sophisticated combination of incentives to keep me from crawling back into bed every single morning, and it takes me at least three hours to feel like myself after i wake up.

i say we get rid of mornings. yeah?

Yeah ... the best thing at morning is - smoke a cigarette with small cup of coffe in bed ... and sleep six more hours ... :ya-a-awn:
It is very entertaining ... at least I was a student I did it any weekend :D

mornings -> YUCK. I tried to give them up, was doing a good too, until the monsters came. Seems children think it's time to wake when sun rises - fraid they might miss something (like sunrise). I'm a natural night owl, not a good combo

I find mornings harder during the fall and winter; I hate how it's so cold and dark!
During the spring and summer and early fall, I love getting up early and listening to the birds. I used to go birding every Saturday morning.

I HAAAAAAAAAATE mornings!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have to get up at 5am on school days,to top that off, I get up every 3 hours in the middle of the night, and it's hard to fall back asleep. Then when it's eventually time to get up, I don't want to get out of bed, cuz I'm too freakin' tired!
I am definitely a night owl. Sure, I can stay up till 2 or 3am(I can't do that on weekdays!), but don't try waking me up before 8:30am! I need 10 or more hours of sleep in order to function and feel normal. I am NOT a morning person!

I'm not a morning person either - by any means...unfortunately the only time I have to go to the gym is before work, which means getting up at 5:15 to start working out by 6:00.... sigh.

I love getting up early and listening to the birds.

I have to admit to this pleasure as well. This winter I'm building together several bird houses to help the doves in the area, it's a great way to wake up.

I also thinking about building a bird house for a screetch owl, how much noise do they make and is it all night {assuming one moves in}.

birds are nice, but they really irritate me in the springtime when it's 3am and i haven't gone to bed yet but the birds are already up and singing, and i can't get to sleep because of them. bah!

 ah, young grasshopper, maybe the question is not about birds keeping you awake when you haven't gone to sleep yet, but rather what are you still doing awake at 3am? Has not the Great Lobo taught you the importance of an early bedtime?

3am is not a late bedtime...

In MJ's world, 3 am is an early bedtime. :)

On 12-06-2003 @ 06:13 PM monsieurjohn had this to say in Post #10 (http://www.aliensoup.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=91922#po st91922)

i know *exactly* where you're coming from with this one....

during the summer, i go to sleep around 4 am-ish.... but those stupid birds... they're really really nice to listen to during the day once i'm already awake... but not when i'm trying to sleep!

but yea, i'm a total night person... it's getting to be really bad. i take naps after school then stay up until about 2 am just doing hw and whatnot... i can't get up in the morning! 6 am is just not cool.... on weekends, when i'm allowed to go to sleep and wake up when i want to.. i usually get up at 9 or 10 am.. not unreasonable! but why the heck can't i do that during the week! stupid society...:ticked:

my ramble time:
i read this book over the summer.. by Hobson called "how the brain changes its chemical mind" or something along those lines.... and one chapter was about sleep schedules.. and he talked all about how the 8 hour thing is really not a very good measure for most people... some need more some need less... unfortunately, our society treasures those that need less... prizing them because they can be more efficient, doing work late into the night but being fresh in the morning. meanwhile, those that need more than the prescribed 8 hours are screwed! sheesh... of course, for many people the 8 hour thing is fine, i'm just saying it's not fair for the people who need more to have to ruin their health just for efficiency's sake....

so yea, sorry, tangeant... but yea, i hate mornings a lot... also, in the winter.. ever notice how your bed is just the right temperature in the morning, and how it has reached the exact comfort level but then you have to get up? yea, that stinks...
