View Full Version : Overdoing PDA

OK, I am NOT saying anything's wrong with a little PDA (Public Display of Affection, for those who don't know). I've done that with my ex-boyfriends, of course, but what I'm about to describe is a bit over the line....
At school, there is this couple who are CONSTANTLY all over each other, especially at lunch. I know that it's their business what they do, and I'm not saying they should stop, but I think it should just be toned down a couple notches when they are in school.
I am used to seeing the arm-around-each-other thing. Happens all the time at school, common sight, but what they do is more than that. Like, in a cafeteria filled with hundreds of people, they'll just be ALL OVER each other, and kissing (not making-out, thank god!). It's NOT like I stare, I just see it out of the corner of my eye.
Yes, I do understand romantic feelings. I've done the same things with my previous boyfreinds, but not in a cafeteria with eighty-million other people around me!! I mean, they'll be KISSING in a full cafeteria and what not, hanging all over each other, and doing this cutsey-lovey type stuff WAYYYYY to much to be done in public. It's something you'd look at and think, "Whoa, whoa! Turn it down a notch, you're in school!" Now, I don't care what they do, just as long as it isn't done so extremely in school. I think they need to save that type of behavior for home.
Anyone agree or oppose over wayyy too extreme PDA?

surprisingly i started seeing a lot less of that when i got to college... i think it really has to do with maturity, in that when people are less mature they feel more inclined to show off and try to impress someone, and in some cases make someone feel bad. then when they get older they realize they have nothing to prove, and start keeping their private lives private (imagine that!).

i think it gets way out of hand, especially with younger kids. not only is it inappropriate for public areas, but it encourages behavior that they ought to wait a while for, to put it lightly.

Yeah, I hate it when people overdo it with their Palm Pilots too! All that graffiti going on, and Dope Wars all day and all night.

Oh... THOSE types of PDA's...
