It's odd...I'm getting to like Creed, and I know they sound a lot like Pearl Jam...yet I don't really like Pearl Jam. I'll admit, I'm a fan of just about anything that sounds early to mid 90's grungy - Mother Love Bone, Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden, the list goes on - and Creed follows in that vein - but Pearl Jam has been there since the get-go and yet I still can't get the nerve to buy anything from them.

Is there something wrong with me? Heck, I liked Mother Love Bone, and most of them are in Pearl Jam now...so what's my problem?

I prefer Creed.

Hell, I even like Silverchair better. http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/smile.gif

Pearl Jam was okay years ago though.

Creed is way better. I have both CD's and can't get enough of them. The old Pearl Jam was ok. I definitely liked Ten, but that's about it.

(Yes, I'm finally getting around to this thread.) I hate Creed. With a passion. I hate the lead singer; he just seems like a pompus assh*ole. I mean, ugh. He was rude to Fred Durst (not that Fred didn't initiate it, I'm sure), but Creed made this whole big stink about their holier-than-thou attitude. I realize that the singer's attitude prolly shouldn't influence my taste in the band, but it does. I'm sick to death of their songs. Blech. Pearl Jam, however, I like http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/smile.gif

Poss, would it redeem me a bit if I told you that I liked them at first? Now, it just..ugh. They're overplayed and pompous. I just don't like them. Sorry http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/indiff.gif

I don't offhand know what song creed does. I do like 10 and a smattering of PJ songs from newer albums. When I saw PJ play at http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/lol.giflapalooza in 1992 I was really impressed. This was just as they were breaking. They put on a good, energetic rock 'n roll show. Vedder seemed excited to be on the stage, maybe because the big venue thing was new to them. Anyway I have had a certain amount of respect for them since then.
