View Full Version : The Food isn't even that good!!!
I don't *get* why people wait for tables at chain restaurants like Charlie Brown's for an hour or more!
There are so many places to go that would be better and less crowded.
I was with people last night who wanted to eat there, but we left and went to a diner. (the prob was basically that we were too casually dressed).
Maybe I'm spoiled by too many choices.
Anyway, that's my rant...maybe it's me

Depends on the restaurant and the group you're with, I suppose. Personally, I can't see waiting an hour for Charlie Brown's, because you're right... the food isn't anything to write home about.
OTOH, I've waited an hour to eat at Outback and it's various clones. They're kinda fun to go to, it's a lively place to eat, and it's kinda hard to get a good steak around here. :)
My personal fave of the clones is Longhorn Steakhouse. Usually no wait time (which means it'll probably be closed within a year), good food (although the steaks don't measure up to Outback), and really friendly and upbeat. I would probably be willing to wait an hour, but like I said, the food is good.

Oh definatly, the food is everything.. I occasionally wait a long while, although whenever possible I try to eat at places I love at wacko hours too early or late for the big crowds unless I have no other choice (like friends who have no idea there will be a wait at 6pm, even though there is every single time at that hour). Duh.
Outback rocks, Boulder Creek is real good (kickass baked beans!), Charlie Brown's is okay, although I prefer what was there before they took over out here.. Santa Fe Steakhouse was awesome, I loved those steak fries!
I find in a restaurant or two, you need to return 2-3 times and see if you like something else.. Some places that suck at steak can have some amazing fish or whatever...
One place that italian people laugh at, is Olive Garden. OMG, that's italian food? The crowds are amazing, however they certainly have never tasted anything remotely good at home or they wouldn't be going back to Olive Garden!
