Quite easily the hardest IT certification exam I've taken to date, but I somehow managed to pass, so I'm now officially a Cisco Certified Network Associate. :D
Another acronym to tack on the ol' resume.
CCNA
MCP
CIW
A+
Network+
I-net+
Server+
I'm thinking of finishing my MCSE now, even though it's kind of a backwards step, but I'm already have some of the exams done, so it would be like tying up loose ends. After doing the Cisco stuff, I could probably pass the Microsoft stuff with much less effort.

congrats!
i can't even imagine what's on those tests, but i know people who have taken them, and i know people who have spent long long long hours studying for them, so i know they're no cakewalk.
you can never have too many acronyms.
 :chestram:  Go Dan, Congrats and all that stuff . . . does this mean that you will get some sort of a raise or something since you now have higher qualifications?

I wish that were the case, but it's highly dubious that I'll see any benefit at this job. The lawyer we work for is kinda tight with his money, and my boss doesn't fight for us strongly enough when it comes to getting raises. I've been here over 14 months, and despite an agreement with my boss to have a review after 6 and 12 months, I have yet to have one. My other coworker has been here over 20 months and hasn't received a raise either.
If anything, it will help me to get a new job that pays more.

I know too well about bosses that are tight with the green. Good things do come to those wait - I hate that phrase, may it come true for you.
