My gramma

My gramma's been sick a while.

I just called my dad and he said she'd taken a turn for the worse. I don't know what to do. I can't go see her. I can't do anything. I'm too far away from it all.

I'm sitting here at my desk trying my hardest to not cry. I've known this is coming for a while now. Nothing ever prepares you to really think someone will be leaving you forever soon.

If you pray, please pray for her. Pray for her to not hurt.

i'll pray for her. i was in your same situation too. it's really hard. you feel so helpless cuz there's really nothing you can do.

Awwwwwwww. Liltaz, I'm so sorry to hear that. If you have a close friend who is good to listen and even let you cry for a while, go find that friend and seek some solace. You've got my prayers, too.

It's ok to cry, right now. I've been through your situation, a few times, myself. You hang in there, ok? Just think that the end is not so terrible as she will enter a place infinitely better than the most wonderful place, imaginable. Use that thought to provide you with comfort.

This is cliche, but try to celebrate her life. Think of all the things you did together, not to make you sadder or anything, but to remember the good times and that she wasn't always sick.

She's gone. About 15 minutes after I posted this, she passed on. I'll be going home within the next few days, so I'll be away.

I realize it doesn't fix anything, or substaintially make anything better, but I want to say for myself that I am very sorry for you and my heart goes out to you. My best thoughts and prayers are for you and your family. I know the same is true from a lot of other people here in our rag tag bunch at the Soup.

And I hope knowing a "stranger" like myself is here attempting to lend a little emotional support, helps a bit to get you through this tough situation. Please keep in mind we do care!

Well, I just keep reminding myself she's home now. She's sitting up there in her palace, with her husband and son and mom and dad. She's not going to hurt anymore and she can play golf again. She's playing golf with her King.

She went peacefully, sleeping.
