It sounds funny but I think I'm addicted to dying my hair... I normally have short black hair, but I just recently started to mess around with it. So far I've only bleached it to a bright yellow/gold, and then a month later I dyed it a deep purple. I'll be going red sometime next week, and I'm already thinking of the next color after that! It's amazing how addictive it is. If it were up to me, my hair would be its normal color maybe one week out of the month at most. But alas, I have to tone it down a little for work, not to mention the fact that my dad isn't too fond of it either.

Addicted to dying your hair?!?
Here's a tip: Avoid the dyes that list heroin as an active ingredient.

hey nootch - being that you like to do this a lot, have you ever thought about a semi-permanent color? l'oreal has one that washes out after 28 shampoos. might be better than a permanent hair color that could really fry your hair. i'm thinking of trying this for the summer in light blond. just m2c ...

I actually do use the semi-permanent colors. I wish I could use permanent ones, but unfortunately I have to meet with clients sometimes (not very often, but often enough not to be able to http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/indiff.gif). I try to give myself a good break in between colors though, to let my hair 'heal'. I'd like to still have it when I'm older http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/wink.gif. That said, anyone have any suggestions for colors?

Sorry, totally forgot about this post!! I've been wanting to do the red since my original post, but I still haven't been able too (it seems like there's been a business meeting/family thing every weekend for the past month and a half). Lucky for me though, after I go to a wedding this saturday, I should be free for at least a month. So keep an eye out, come sunday I'll be that guy driving around LA with red hair http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/supergrin.gif

Oooh, I went throught the same "addiction" a few years ago. I have naturally blonde hair, which bleaches out in the summer, then turns darker in winter. So in the winters I took to trying different colors. Tried a med. copper color - that was fun as heck, also have tried black and auburn. What skin tone and eye color do you have? That would really help in making any suggestions to you.
I used to have my black hair dyed a redish brown but now stick to the highlights. I think it gives it more flair than just dyeing the whole thing. When I had it first done, it was kinda dark red so I didn't like it as much, but my friend told me to get out in the sun...well after a sunny day of mowing the lawn it came out almost blonde..I just loved it. I might try a different color to what I have now.

rogue? is that you? :D
juuuuust kidding, it looks cool! i'd get some kind of highlighting sometime, except i'm in rotc and they want it to look 'natural', blah blah blah...
I wish I had a camera to show you mine today. My hairdresser re-highlighted it and put toner in, and also straightened it. It is parted in the middle.
Now it looks like Jennifer Aniston's current style. I know tommorrow it will have to go back to wavy, since I can never get it to look the way he does!!!

About 3 years ago, I dyed my naturally blonde hair DARK BROWN!!!! Why oh why?! The darker it was, the more wrong it looked. Oh what ever made me do that!
Also, I don't think that my light blue eyes looked any better with dark brown hair.
Have any of you guys dyed your hair a color that you absolutely regret?
Not yet... though next I may try a bit of blood-red to go with the platinum-blonde.

Panache;
In 2000 my then Wife persuaded me to try dying out my grey (which is all-pervading). We went to Boots and chose a colour, which looked the sort of brown I thought my hair should be, behind the grey...
Oh dear. It was a reddish brown I've never actually had - my hair was always (before the grey) a dark, blackish brown... So I went for a job interview or three and got the job. Time passed. My team leader who was based a good distance away from our office visited (this was about 5 weeks after the interviews - and was the first time I'd seen him since then).
He nearly died of shock! Of course I've forgotten completely about the embarrassing hair dye thing which has now faded back to my perfectly normal, natural grey... Danny thought I'd seen a ghost or something LMAO!!

I like seeing some different color in hair (though it isn't natural). I guess it's just to see something unique in a person that stands out particularly. This one girl I have as a friend has purple streaks but they're more than highlights so they really stand out. Highlights are sometimes meant to be subtle depending on the amount you put in. I myself have very subtle cinnamon and toffee highlights to counter the grey in my hair which is mainly medium dark brown (ironically earth colors and the coffee flavors are my favorite combonations in decorating my life).
I think as for you I think I could see that. One of my hairdressers (only see two hairdressers EVER, depending where I am at in country) is a dead ringer for Pink that she herself does unique things to her hair. She had that get-up you're wanting to get once, and I as saw it on her I thought it pretty. But then again she had short hair just like Pink. If your hair is long I can still picture it as long as it's straight hair. There's no picture in my mind of that look with curly hair whatsoever. Maybe if you were to post your picture you might get more help (use the attachment procedure rather than linking picture, that way only members see your picture). I'll even let my hairdresser look and give some input, as I see her sweet face this coming week. :D
