I saw the preview and I'm a tad disappointed at the story of the movie. The story is basically part of the comic series brought to real life.
Professor Xavier builds an academy where mutants can train and work for peace for everyone. We've all seen and heard this before. Some politician doesn't like mutants and wants everyone of them identified and known to the public (in a negative way). Been there, done that. Conflict arises and Magneto on the side doesn't help the situation. I've seen all this already and I'm feeling that the cartoon series offered a more realistic look at the comic series than real life actors and computer animated effects can do. My prediction is that the movie will get heavily hammered by the critics, but I will find out for myself.

To my knowledge X-Men, the cartoon series, has been taken off the air. The last time I saw an episode was about two years ago.

See, at first, I thought that the movie looked pretty poopy. But, we went to see um...Gone in 60 Seconds on Friday, and there was a pretty big trailer for X-Men. The more I see of the movie, the better it looks to me. I agree that the story is pretty played-out, but it still looks like it'll be entertaining enough to go see. By the way, is the cartoon still on tv anymore? I miss X-Men..there are no more good Saturday morning cartoons anymore. :: sigh ::

Darn cartoons and their new found politcal correctness. You can't turn on Saturday morning tv and find good, violent cartoons anymore. They all have some sort of *educational* message. What's wrong with rotting your brain while eating strait sugar for cereal? (Okay, so I don't ever remember doing just that, but..) ::sigh::

Yeah what happened to watching G.I. Joe or Transformers while eating Pac Man cereal?

For that matter, what the hell happened to the PacMan cartoon? I used to watch that all the time. Heh..a little off topic I guess..sorry.

FOX is going to have a special on TV Tuesday, one of those Behind-the-Scenes kind of deals...I've found that specials like that often give you a better idea of how the movie will play out than do the sneak previews at the movie theaters. I for one am looking forward to the flick...at the very least to show I'm glad they cast Patrick Stewart as Prof. X -- one of the best casting moves any movie-maker could have made!

Woo-hoo! A store at a local mall is giving away sneak preview passes at 5pm Tuesday for a Wednesday evening showing! I'm skipping out of work early Tuesday to snag those babies! http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/wink.gif
