got a real tree this year :) four foot tall and smells delicious. i like little trees better. the only thing i hate is pine needles all over the floor. but when they get sucked up in the vacuum you can still smell pine when vacuuming other rooms.

we have a lot of homemade decorations the lings have made over the years which look really nice on the tree.

i like fake trees. i cannot STAND the smell of pine. and it is fun to play with the branches before you put the tree together cause they look like big claws. :D

after this holiday season i plan on buying my first christmas tree. then i will convince my dad that i have to store it at his house :D i want to get a fiber optic tree, a pink tree, or something just as tacky. i just want a totally ugly tree while i'm young and dont have any lings of my own.

this is a good idea. get a white tree w/big, tacky light bulbs or something

actually, my lings would love a tree like this.

Real christmas tree here.
We have all the pretentious snob relatives down for the day, so that's why we have a real one, though it's great anyway. :)

I dont really like the fake ones. I love the smell of the real ones, and they just look better, IMNSHO.

we always had a rel tree when I was growing up. Always ALWAYS.

I've only bought a tree once in the 9 years sicne I left home, when 6 of us who shared a house had an 'orphans' christmas. It was huge. I mean HOWJE!!!!!! It must have been about 8' tall and 4' wide. It was great lol.

I never bothered any other year cos I usually go to my parents' house at Christmas anyway.

I bought one this year though. A little dinky 70cm one, still living, with roots and everything, which I will use each year as it gets bigger. Obviously it's a Yule tree though not a Crimble tree.

It's decorated with walnuts and pine cones. Some are sprayed gold and some are left natural. It looks lovely.

No tree. Well, I do have a wooden tree I bought at a craft store. I'll have to post a pic of it later, after I finish writing out my Christmas cards.

I can't have a tree, because my particular cats would destroy it ;)

I've never had fake trees...at least not tall ones. I only had the little prelit ones you'd put in a window for decoration. Otherwise, I grew up always having the real trees. The smell, the messy pine needles all over the ground when it's old, and just the fact that it's a live tree in my house just made it such a real holiday. Plus, I love decorating them every year cause it just puts such a personal tradition and touch to the christmas holidays.

Unfortuneately now, I have a dog that believes all water put on this earth is hers to drink. So I'm thinking fake is the way to go just to avoid her drinking the water before the tree gets a sip. I don't want to have to fight her off and not enjoy a nice relaxing moment in front of the tree. Even a cover won't keep her from trying to get at the water. Besides, I can still decorate the tree any way I want, and I don't even have to clean up the mess the needles leave behind when christmas is over.

I may still get a real tree sometime in the future. but fake just seems to be the best way under my circumstances for now.

I got a iddy liddle wee real tree and put it on one of my shelving units - it sits just right on top of it. The kitten hasn't made it to the tree so far *fingers crossed*

Not sure what she'll be like at my parents' house where they have a real tree which is as wide as it is tall. i have visions of the whole lot coming crashing down 5 minutes after we arrive.

What am, I talking about? We'll arrive on the 23rd. they won't even have bought the tree then. I know what will happen. I'll end up decorating the bloody thing again *sigh*

My place is too small for a tree, plus I'll be at my parents for the holidays anyway. Over Thanksgiving, my sister and I went out and bought a new fake tree. It is 7.5' high and has built in lights. So the lights are all perfectly spaced. This tree has so many branches that you can't even see the trunk/pole.

Real, of course -- one of the best nostalgic times of the year is that day that I get my tree. This year, I got my own *first* tree -- as its the first year I'm living on my own - it's beautiful:) 8 feet tall, and I made nearly all of the ornaments myself. :)

my family always had a fake tree.. it was easy to put up (think we only used it for 6 X'mas's.. sits in the attic now).. no fallen pine around the tree.. didn't have to water it.. dunno.. seemed more practical than getting a real tree

I like real trees best, but with Jason, the cat, and limited room, I got a 4-foot fake. It doesn't look too bad, though, I don't think. Especially when you consider that I decorated it by myself, and I detest decorating trees.
