is anyone else interested is starting a Holiday Card Mailing List? Like sending paper cards through snail mail. I mean, getting mail is always a fun thing, right? :D

we could have someone track everyone's addresses (which i can do...) or we can do it kinda like a secret santa thing...? Any way, i think we can make this a lot of fun.

How to implement this. I will serve as a gathering point if everyone would like. If you want in, pm me your addy, and I will forward it along to everyone else on the list, and that way not everyone has to send their addy to everyone, and it makes things easier. Does that work for everyone?

Only slightly. I havnt been around much this weekend, so I havnt had a chance to send out the addy's I have recieved. I will have them out to you all by tomarrow though. Anyone else who wants to be involved send me a pm. sorry for the delay. :)

i called them holiday cards so not to assume that everyone one has the same religion, or that only christians are invited. see what i am getting at? i am soooo politically correct! :lol:
to join, just send a Private Message to Prox with your address. once the addresses are collected he will provide everyone with a list of the addresses. see? :D

usually when i buy christmas cards, i am always specific to buy ones that are as un-christmasy as possible. like the ones with winter scenes, and say "seasons greetings."

This just makes it more fun to keep you in suspense . . . and I think we have probably gotten everyone who wants to participate, so Ill send them out sometime today. Well, according to the USPS web site, it's $1.60 to England and $1.70 to Australia. I'll try to take my cards to the post office in person tomorrow and see how it ends up.

it's 'only' 65p to send a card from here to the States or Australia. In fact it was 2 cards, cos mine and Raffiki's were all sent in the same envelopes :)
Honest, we're not cheapskates, just that mine didn't have envelopes since I made them ....

You're right...I must have seriously overestimated the weight of the cards when I went to the website. I went to the Post Office and said "OK, I have these 3 cards to send internationally", expecting them to be weighed and such, and they said "OK, how many was that?" I said 3, and they gave me three 80-cent stamps :lol:
So the cards are on their way now. Hope they get there in time :)
And I got a load of cards today, I think 2 or 3 were from AS people :D I haven't opened them yet.

OK, I just got a valentine's card with Alien's return address on it, and it's signed "Alien"...
...but Alien swears it isn't from him.
And, although the return address is from NY, the postmark is from Rockville, MD.

Over the last nine months, Dajeil and I have been having to deal with a hate campaign which took the form of various internet attacks. There were obscene e-cards, mail bombs (10,000 emails per day each at one point), defamatory web sites, postings on newsgroups and forums, newspaper reporters hounding, and various other foul things. The guy we believe to be responsible has been charged with various offences by the police; the trial will be some time this year.
Today, Dajeil recieved a valentines card in the post - from the USA. The card had her full address on it, and also had MY name and address as the sender. The card was signed from me.
We suspect that this was intended as a bit of fun from *someone* at Soup. However, given our recent situation, and our request that our addresses wouldnt be abused in *any* way, Daj was actually quite distressed by this for a while.
Whilst neither of us object to receiving cards, and appreciate the sentiment behind this one too, can we make a request that cards aren't sent in the name of someone else, as this formed part of our recent harrasment.

Man W send V-card from Y to X. The man X will enjoyed and think - "What a such cute man Y" - of course he will sent V-card to man Y. Man Y will also enjoyed and think - "What a such cute man X" - of course he will sent V-card to man X. Ha ... man X will receive second V-card from Y. There are exists two possibilities : [man X will send new V-card to man Y] or [man X will write to man Y that he is not right]. So, man Y will receive second something ... this is a reason for small quarrel... And at this moment man W send V-card from man Z to man Y, and from man X to man Z ...
Of course - it will be small civil war ... V-card war .... :)
I created 9 fake cards and I send them to 9 soupers with 3 days delay in circle mode... Huh! This genius plan was failed ... Mostly, coz You are very vigilant ...
