When you call a company know who you want to speak with. The poor woman/guy at the switchboard doesn't usually just have your call coming in. When you call and sit there "duh-ing" over who you want to speak to you are holding up business. Don't be an ass - know who you're calling and if they're not there, don't "duh" over whether or not you want to leave a voice mail.

remember being in similiar situation a few years ago. i'd be on the phone w/somebody who actually expected me to get up and look for the person he/she needed to speak w/even though that person wasn't within FIVE MILES of my desk <sigh>
meanwhile, the phone is ringing OFF THE HOOK w/about 20 other callers
is it that hard to leave a voice mail message? you have to decide? http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/frown.gif just s*** or get off the pot already ...
