Paydays are wonderful! You spend your entire week, almost nine hours per day (for me) working hard and for what? That’s right, $$ the money! $$ Nothing makes rising and shining at the butt crack of dawn and spending hours on end, not amused and exhausted beyond belief http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/zzz.gif , more worthwhile than getting a hefty check at the end of the week. Cha-ching!
Every Friday morning around 11 AM I travel down to the lobby of the Nationwide building where I work, and after signing my name am given an envelope. I open it up, ever so slowly in hopes of preserving that oh so enjoyable moment. I slide out the check enclosed inside and see that its addressed to me and nod as if to say to myself “It’s mine, it’s all mine!” <add cackling laugh http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/lol2.gif > I love money! If it were possible, I would own a larger than life sized vault like Mr. McDuck himself had in TV’s Duck Tales and I’d swim in it each and everyday just as he would do. http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/lol.gif I get the biggest grin on my face after seeing my bank account grow. The irony of this is that once Monday rolls around, once again I have forgotten why it is that I work. Oh well. http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/tongue.gif

Hehehe. Payday is good. Yes. I have one of those in a week. Hopefully I won't lose any hours somewhere between now and then so I can get a nice size check. Damnit, now you've got me all excited. http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/wink.gif
Mine's every two weeks so imagine what a trick it seems to be, until one remembers another won't come next week.

My payday is once a month, the last day of the month. It doesn't really bother me at all, since I am DEBT free! I payed off all my loans, student loans, and new car loans, in under 4 years, by May of 2000. Now the money is being stashed for a house. It's not that much of an experience for me, as it is for BB, since it's payed via electronic deposit and, now brace yourself, I really do enjoy my job. Yes, I know, I need help. http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/wink.gif

Nerd! I’m kidding, I really admire you for truthfully being able to say so. That’s actually the way I’d like to view my career once I have one. I know that having a job you love is the goal of every bright eyed college go-getter, but I have no doubts whatsoever about what I’m studying, which leads me to believe I have a better chance of this goal one day happening for me in relation to most others. Half of those I know in college either don’t have the slightest clue pertaining to what they’d like to major in or see their major as a pain in their backside. I’ve known what I’ve wanted to study since day two of college as well as known deep down what I loved. I’d like more than anything to have a job that I not only enjoy, but also one where I desire to be there. I cringe at the thought of seeing work as nothing more than a mere chore that helps pay bills from month to month. If in the end I love my career even half as much as I love the classes I’m taking, I’ll be 100% satisfied. I’m glad to hear you are happy BRiT! http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/smile.gif

Work switched over to a two payday a month system. Even though it happens twice as often its only 1/2 as much to celebrate over. Though the only thing that matters is that the checks keep clearing.

Clothes to wear to work. How ironic is that http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/tongue.gif

http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/lol.gif I usually always end up spending the first two week paycheck and then some on nothing but clothes for work, when I switch jobs.

Luckily I've got a fair amount of stuff from when I worked at B&H, and haven't worn in over a year because the dot-bomb job was so casual. But I still need some stuff, especially warm-weather stuff (I always do have trouble with that, every year), even a little more so because my new employer doesn't allow you to wear jeans on Fridays (small grumble).
