A little humor for the group...

You know you have a problem with Folding when...

10. You find yourself considering finding a new job because a new one might have more systems you can convert.

9. You're setting up computers that will never be accessed, but will always be running.

8. Every computer you see, even those you don't own, is a potential stats boost.

7. You're trying to figure out how you can get your watch, calculator, and digital egg timer network access so that their cycles don't go to waste.

6. You install the folding client on your friend's computer when they're not looking.

5. You go to great trouble and personal expense to get another system running because "the team needs you".

4. You continually get strange stares from friends and family when they see your "folding farm", aka the fire hazard in the corner covered in stray cables.

3. You wake up in the middle of the night just to check to make sure all of your systems are still folding away.

2. You brag about your folding ranking to your non-techie friends.

1. You publicly advocate going into the local computer retail store and setting up the client on the store's computers, folding for your account, in order to boost your stats.

WaterB> As pretty as the screen saver is, it's buggy as all hell. I would avoid it if you can. I've seen systems that won't power up the monitor from standby because the screen saver has crashed or locked up.

Stick with the console, and enjoy the screen saver of your choice. http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/smile.gif

Very nice.

00. Join multiple forums to recruit more people to your team, even if website has nothing to with your actual team.

Now really shouldn't you add f@h to any computer you pass by?

Diesel

Not really, and that's somewhat bad advice. There have been issues where people have been fired for running the client on work computers without permission.

F@H specifically warns against such action for these reasons. ONLY run F@H on computers which you are authorized to run them on.

good points - all. I'm talking about private systems and recruiting. When I'm over someone's house, especially if they have a new PC or just bragging about their system, I recruit them to our team - hence Makhaon, punkin, zip, James Herman, franadri, etc.

Yeah, that stuff is definitely okay. The key is having the permission of the owner of the computer.
In the workplace, that kind of thing is definitely bad news, and it's not worth losing a job over, so be sure to get permission FIRST. While it would be great to have all of that computing power contributing to this great cause, the law isn't on your side if you don't have permission, and it's not worth the consequences.
