my dead trees

after a huge tree branch fell on and damaged my neighbor's truck last year and another huge CHUNK from another tree fell on my other neighbor's roof this year, the dpw is finally cutting down all the semi-dead and dead trees surrounding our houses.

i've got one out front that looks like a telephone pole. "but we can't cut it down; it's still alive" they said. "no, NO" i said, "one BRANCH is still alive. the rest of the tree is dead - DEAD, and i don't want it in my living room during the next storm".

i don't think they get it, so i call the dpw and the secretary says they are getting sick of cutting down trees. yeah ... AND? what's that supposed to mean?

whatever i said worked though, cuz i only spoke w/her a few weeks ago and they are already cutting them down as i "speak".

i guess this is only a semi-rant unless they decide just to "prune", then it will turn into a "full-fledged rant".

and mind you, i'm not an advocate of cutting down ANY trees unless they are dead or beyond repair.

Yeah, I miss my tree outside my house. It was a HUGE one but got really bad and they had to cut it down... I wish the town would plant a new small one in it's place instead of just leaving it bare though, but that's wishful thinking. It's been a couple of years now, but it still bothers me, I should plant one myself. Where do I get a nice one that's at least 10 feet tall to start or something? http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/smile.gif

They just cut down another one across the street yesterday too. I am going to start wanting to move, this block is getting crummy looking. http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/smile.gif I may have new tar down on my street, but the trees make the block.
