Once again, congrats Charles! If only I had my 4th system running about a week ago. It would have been at least good enough for 40 work units a week. Alas, I'm still waiting on hardware for it (shame that video cards are required to run).

As for ramping up clockspeed, she's going as fast as she can, capt'n!

BRiT&gt; I'm in the same boat as you. System waiting and ready to go with a 1GHz AXIA, but stuck with a bad motherboard.

To top that off, I've been having problems with my dial-up, in that the number I always call has been busy for 3 days straight, so I've been forced to rely on an unreliable alternate which will sometimes reject the connection.

Ack. Sorry to hear about your issues, DD. Which motherboard is it anyways?

I know some of them are rather odd (well, awkward in that they're different). They will not turn on unless you have the fan plugged into the proper fan-connector on the motherboard. I beleive abit or asus are like this. A couple of friends had gone through 4 mb RMAs. When I heard about it, I asked if he tried moving fan connector around, and when he did, the boards finally worked. It's barely mentioned in the mb manual too.

I had gone through 2 mb RMAs before I got a working board. The first one had no heatsink on the northbridge chip. The second one had malfunctioning RAID controller (data corruption issues). The third one was the charm. I'm still not totaly completely ultimately satisfied with it, MSI K7T266 Pro Raid. I'm hoping the upcoming 2.0 BIOS will take care of the issues (stuttering of USB mice, and USB failure above 140Mhz FSB). But the mb/cpu becomes my 2nd system once an affordable SMP board is available.

The one I'm having trouble with is a MSI K7T-Turbo. It powers up but never POSTs. The D-LED feature stays at 4 red, no matter what I do.
No video, no beeps, no nothing. Usually that indicates a bad motherboard.

It seems like this past week, everything that could impede my production has happened. First, the trouble with my dial-up. Now, I found that my laptop was hanging, and EM was using 100% of the CPU. Killed EM, restarted it and all is well now, but I lost about a night's worth of production out of that machine.

Not sure if you guys saw, but I ordered the Gateway server that poss posted to Hot Deals. Really can't beat that price, and it's easily upgraded to dual CPU, so I may add a 2nd 933 to that one. Unfortunately, I only have a 4-port KVM, which is full, so I'll probably end up retiring the Celeron 700 system. I'd retire the slowest machine, which is a Celeron 563, but it's operating my server, which is handling DHCP, ICS, and file sharing duties, so that would have to wait until I could get the Gateway system up and running to handle all of those tasks.
