I just found out today that my 17 year-old cousin had a little boy earlier in the day. Her parents found out she was pregnant LAST FREAKING NIGHT. She never went to the doctor. Never told anyone. Never even freaking showed. Her baby weighed 7 lbs. 13 oz. and was 21" long. How the HELL she hid that, I'll never know. Luckily, she and the baby are doing just fine.

Not only is it amazing she managed to do that at all, but with an almost 8 lb baby???? Damn.

Her poor parents...I can only imagine having less than 24 hours to get used to THAT idea.

Wishing best of luck to all of them.

Lemme see. She told them she was in labor around 9:30; her water broke at midnight, and they went to the hospital; they were grandparents at 3:30 am. ::sigh:: His name is Ethan Alexander, and my daddy said he has really long legs, so he'll be a basketball player. (He also thought I'd be a basketball player..I'm closer to gymnast height.) At any rate, my cousin (and little cousin) are doing very well.

Ok what I dont understand is the reasoning for hiding the pregnancy. Well on second thought I kinda see how it would be hard to say "Mom Im pregnant" But still I would think that If you just drop it on them at the last second then It is harder and on top of that you dont get the care you need when you hide it. I dont know I guess the fact that I know that if I was a girl and I got pregnate that my parents would understand and support me 100% might make it easier for me to say this. But I Still dont get the point of hiding it. I hope I dont sound too harsh.

Ok on a brighter note, Im glad that things did turn out so well, and I hope you enjoy your new cousin. Do they live close so that Jason and Ethan can play togeather?

Are you close to your cousin? If so, I'm really really shocked that she didn't confide in you throughout what must have been a terrifying expereience having kept it so secret.

I have no idea why she hid it, Prox. One of my only ideas is that she didn't want the dadddy to know he was a daddy. (She wants nothing to do with him.) They live in Louisiana, so they can play whenever I go to visit my family.

And, KNS, we just started getting along last year. I've always had a *very* love/hate relationship with my cousins on that side of the family.

These type of stories always amaze me- some people hardly ever show, or maybe appear like they gained a few pounds- Perhaps because many teenagers don't want to hear "You've gained weight" it doesn't get questioned

OMG!!!! The reason I'm shocked she didn't tell anyone is that being pregnant and going through labor, as you very well know, can be life threatening. I mean...I shudder to think what could have happened. I'm honestly glad that everything did turn out okay. And I'm honestly hoping that Ethen and Jason do get to play together. Hey...perhaps Jason and Makia can play together, one day. http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/smile.gif
