Always An Alien

Well, my *Teen* hits 16 this week and made me think of when I turned 16.
How did everyone (over 16) celebrate their 16th b-day?
AAA: Slumber party with the gals (think we had beer)/saw my bf/remember I got a typewriter and the gals got me a charm bracelet. No car for me till later.
Was sick. Layed on the couch and watched TV. Didnt do nothin really. My mommy did make me a wonderfull dinner for my birthday though. Actually come to think of it I dont really do much of anything for any of my birthdays sick or not. Although the next one may be different (21 http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/evil.gif )

It sucked. I had four people show up to my party http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/frown.gif There was one person from each grade, though..that was kinda nifty, I guess.

I honestly don't even remember it. Guess I didn't do much.
I did go get my learner's driving permit, but now people can do that when they're 15. http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/terrified.gif

boy, we sure have had a bunch of boring 16th birthdays! i wish better for *teen*, AAA.
as for me, i spent the whole night partying like a madman, hitting all the clubs, and to tell you the truth i don't remember the whole evening very well at all http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/wink.gif
oh wait, that was my alter-ego supercooljohn
i had a quiet family dinner not special at all. yay. although i did get a stunt kite from my sister, spawning an excellent hobby.
in my state they had just raised the *permit* age to 16, and even then i was so lazy i didn't get it for like 10 months, so i got my drivers license when i was like 17 1/2... so nothing special in the driving arena about my sixteenth.
nothing special for me, either.

My 16th birthday was actually very nice -- 7 of my friends suprised me, and came to my house with one of those metalic, helium balloons with my name on it (something I'd always wanted but never gotten before then! http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/wink.gif) and then took me out for a really nice dinner at a fancy Italian place. We all crammed into my friend's mom's minivan, and she dropped us off at the door because it was raining. Ah, memories http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/smile.gif

I haven't even had my 16th birthday yet.
Though I don't think it's going to be anything particularly special.

MJ, you had me going for a minute. I was sitting here thinking "THAT does NOT sound like MJ." http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/lol.gif
Well, don't think *Teens* will be that hot.
Dinner at home with ole mom & dad. Requested White Castles (have to buy frozen-No White Castles around here)for dinner with Chocolate cake. Since it's a weeknight-prob stay home. Poor kid, I can see it now. One day she'll be on a message board saying what a boring 16th b-day she had. Maybe I should come up with something else?

I can’t for the life of me remember *what* I did for my 16th birthday. http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/indiff.gif I must be getting old, because my memory is fading.
Have no fear AAA, if you are as close with your daughter as you appear to be, having you, along with the rest of the family there to celebrate will be overlly special and memoriable for her. Happy Birthday *Teen*!

hmmm. well, i haven't had my 16th birthday yet... but, to AAA, i would suggest, if *teen* has several friends you know of, that you perhaps ask if she wants a party. not the day of her birthday, but on the weekend or whatever. i mean, not necessarily a party, but a good get together of friends, or whatever. i know when i'm older i want to remember my 16th member as something really good. i know that even though a kid may really like their family, friends is always a good thing when it comes to birthdays.
