Does anybody own a ouija board? Have you used it?

How many people have seen things happen while using a ouija board? Have you tried to use it alone? Did it work with no one around?

There are so many mysteries about the power behind a ouija board. Tell me about your experiences with this seemingly innocent board game! http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/eek.gif

Yes, I have one sitting right here by my desk.

I do not put any faith in the board.
It was just a game my mom got for me as a child.
Of *all* the strange things I have seen in my life I can not say any of them involved an ouji board.http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/supergrin.gif

Now that is something I would like...

Does anyone know where you may order one over the internet from. These are not available in the UK to my knowledge.

Oh my God, I have SO many weird experiences with a Ouija board...to the point where I won't even go NEAR one now!

I don't even know where to start, as far as sharing stories though....

Stay FAR, FAR away...

I'll beat the hell out of any strange phenomenon if I ever see any

Like if I see a being or a door opening or something, I'll go up to the ghost and make faces at it and yank the door open. It's the unexpected that always gets people. We humans have to expect the worst, so those "things" that happen don't take us by surprise. Rule your territory and let nothing in your way

Well, telling all the stories at once would be too much and make for a REALLY long post, but...

I worked as a lifeguard for five summers, and either the first or second summer (can't remember which by now), all of us who worked at the pool thought it would be fun to have a Ouija board. We made it ourselves (everyone had a hand in it so there was a part of all of us in it), and used one girl's bracelet as the thing that moves around.

We always talked to this one spirit named Uria who was from the 1800's or something. Weird things ALWAYS happened while we were using the Ouija board, or shortly thereafter.

One in particular that stands out was that this spirit gave us a phone number he wanted us to call. So we wrote it down, and one girl went to call. A minute later she hung up the phone and screamed...it turns out the number we'd been given was that of a hospital a few miles away.

Okay, but don't you think anything can be used as a *vehical* so-to-speak for *spirits*? I do. Just don't think the board has any *magic* powers.

I wouldn't say the board has any magical powers, AAA, but it definitely seems to be an effective conduit for communicating with the nether world... *shrug*

All I know is you'll never see me within spitting distance of a Ouija board ever again. *shudder*

First post alert for me..

Never actually had a real one (seen one on eBay in the UK though..) but i used to 'make' them with my friends, my dad showed me how...

Basically, you get a load of card with letters on them (there used to be a card game, called 'lexicon' i think, that had cool letters on cards) or you just make them (this is better, gives you something to do..) marking them A-Z, 0-9, Yes and No.

OK? Arrange these in a circle on a polished surface (i.e., a table) and use a light-ish glass as the planchette (just put it in the center or the ring of letters). The participants then put their fingers on the glass, and ask questions / just go with the flow.

As far as experiences are concerned, it scared me a *lot* when i was a kid. Since then, i have done it (not recently) but I firmly believe that it is not so much spirits as subconcious energy, the untapped mind if you will.. Any Comments?

Aleph.
