I would assume that if it was edited and not much was said about it that it most likely had legal issues.

No legal issues involved.
It was done because it was blatant advertising. If you occasionally visit other fine forums, you will tend to notice an individual or three taking advantage of advertising on other forums to help another place grow.
This direct example is what she had done.
We occasionally run contests or giveaways here (we will do so more in the future, I'm just finishing off the forum software updates first). I would not expect, nor ask, or allow any user here to go posting 'hey you can make some $25 if you can post on this other forum frequently!' which is basically what she said, and has SAID that she would say on the particular forum she was 'promoting'. I read the thread myself.
That's just silly. If you wish to promote a forum, tell all your friends, tell everyone on your icq/buddy lists, post it at a college auditorium, stick it in you signature, whatever you do, but things such as just posting it on competing sites show a blatant disregard for other peoples boards.
