i've had my share of wacked-out dreams, but the one that stands out the most is this one: i dreamt that i was a corpse, the walking dead, if you will. i was all smelly and rotten. i was in an open coffin and i sat up, got out, and was walking around this haunted mansion. what was so awful about it was that i knew i was dreaming and i couldn't get myself to wake up ...

You just had to go ahead and ask this question, didn't you? http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/smile.gif

Okay, here it goes...

One night back in 1993, I had fallen asleep right in the middle of the Letterman show.

After sleeping for a time, I just 'felt' awake and opened my eyes. My television was still on (some infomercial was on or something, I couldn't tell, but it sure looked like I was awake).

My eyes basically moved to other areas of the room after seeing the television, and in front of my closed bedroom door was?

That's right, an Alien.

From bed, 'he' seemed very tall, it was hard to judge, but it seemed more like 6 feet than the "normal" 4-5. I'm about 6'2 myself. I wasn't frightened, I just looked. I felt confused. He didn't move whatsoever. It almost looked like a cardboard standup for a movie ad they'd have at a movie theater.

After what felt like maybe 2-3 minutes, I began to get a little nervous, I didn't feel myself breathing and I tried to get up to get the hell away from this. I couldn't move at all, my neck and above were fine, but the rest of me was 'dead' for lack of a better word. Heh.

I started to hyperventilate more and more violently. 'He' still didn't move at all.

There is nothing scarier than being able to move your head, and not being able to move or feel the rest of your body. Paraplegic people really are courageous.

As I got more violent, I fell asleep again, and when I woke up, he was gone. My television was still on during the exact same infomercial, my door was still closed, my window was closed (I had left it open cause I had no AC at the time, hmm.) Noone else could have closed my window! http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/tongue.gif

I read once a few years ago that there was a condition where you wake up, and the rest of you can't move just yet. It's not exactly common, but had been identified by scientists.

I have no idea what happened to me, but I later developed an odd 'bump' on my chin that never went away. Not a cut or anything, just a bump that's a little red. I noticed it about a year later.

I never had this happened to me before, and never had this happen to me again (that I know of).

Well, you asked. Stop asking me all these probing questions. http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/lol.gif

Wow... that sounds wierd. I think that one tops mine, if it is infact a dream http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/eek.gif

I fell asleep in the normal way (in bed), and I started falling through these windows... And every time I fell through a window, the room would change colors, untill I finally hit the head of this HUMUNGEOUS gerbal or something. I woke-up almost instantly as I hit the gerbal, and I found myself on the floor!!

i used to write them down. it's a good idea to keep a journal. dreams are like a window into our subconcience (sp?) and should be analyzed.

i'd have to say that the gerbil dream defies explanation ...

I've thought about alot of it. Just no way to know right now, so I just live with it.

Don't think about it much, except for certain movies that bring a little of that 'sort' of thing back... Communion, Fire in the Sky, etc. http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/smile.gif

Ok! So I can't beat the Gerbil or the alien thing I must admit that I have been having one that is weird for one primary reason, REPETITION!

I have the same one over and over and over..... Sometimes three or four nights out of the week.

In it I am in a huge house or maybe a hotel. Obviously abandoned and empty, running past door after door down this long hallway (that's why I said maybe a hotel) hollering my sons name and occasionally my husband's desperately seeking them both. I know they are in there somewhere and I can't find them. I don't see anything scary and nothing else every happens, I just seem to be running this hallway for ever. It never fails to make me wake up with my heart thumping and short of breath like I was really running.

i've had those "repetition" dreams before too. i notice that i usually have them when i'm in a particulary stressful or busy time in my life (around the holidays, when a job situation is not working out, etc.).

did you ever have dreams that you could fly? weeeeeeeeee ....

Oh yeah... Those flying dreams are wierd, like this one where I was flying over what appeared to be a city.. until I hit one of the buildings. My dream zoomed out like a movie, and teh city was actually a TOY city, and an old guy was cleaning me off the model with a kleenex! WOOOOoooooo!!!

I used to have this re-ocurring dream where I lived in a universe that was only 3 feet tall (picture a crawl space). I had to walk on my hands and knees to get anywhere. Thankfully, I haven't had that dream since I was a kid.

I'm walking through a playground on a bright sunny day, and come upon this huge metal tile/tube that starts in the middle of the playground. I look down into the end of it, but it's too dark, and I can't see anything. I climb upon the tile and start to walk down it where I come to several large rusted out spots in the tile. At each spot, the sun shines brightly down into the tile where I can get a good look inside. And inside each hole there is a huge blob-like (think the movie) figure dressed (more like draped) with human clothes. Each blob is dressed up like some some famous person in history. I can really only remember two: Elvis-Blob and Hitler-Blob. At one point I fall through a rusted spot and somehow end up getting to the end of the tile without being consumed by a blob, but as I start to crawl out of the tile, a kid starts to run up behind me from the tile. I turn to help him out, but instead out taking my outstretched hand, he crabs a hold of my leg and takes a big chomp out of it. I woke up at that point.

I've got a few others that I might post later here, but that one is weird enough and long enough to last for a while.

I had a few wierd dreams. A few recent ones and a few older ones. One older I know was a dream and that one repeated itself two nights in a row (I was still in grade school at the time). Another just happened once but I'm not sure it was a dream. I'm still confused about it but there's no way to find out what it was. I'll tell you about that one.

This one happened around the same time as the repeated dream I had mentioned, so I was still in grade school at the time. High school to be a little more exact. I was asleep as one does at night.

I woke up sensing a bright light on my wall. There was a very bright square of light right next to me on my wall with a shadow of a head; looked like a man's head. It would occasionally look from one side to another as if it were looking around the room but mostly it appeared to be looking rihgt at me.

At first I was just curious where this box of light was coming from. I figured it could be from my window but my shades were closed and there wasn't anything near my window that would cause such a bright light to come through not to mention a perfect square of light. I figured, maybe it would come from my brother's room. I recently got over my Poltergeist fear that caused me to close all doors and closests and no light had to be in my room so I had been able to fall asleep with doors and dresser drawers open. My brother's room was directly across from mine, separated by a bathroom. With both doors open I could see straight through to his room. I closed my door and that box of light was still there head included.

Then I started reaching for possibilities. I started to move my closet door around which had a mirror on it figuring it must me a reflection from something. Nope bow of light never moved. I then just approached the box. the head starring right at me now. I touched it and no shadow!! What the! I touched inside the borders of the box where the the light is and not a shadow. This made no sense. Where there's light there's a shadow that can be made...but not this time.

Now I'm really freaked out! I had no idea what to do. I never made a peep though. I didn't want to wake up my mother for something like this. Besides both my brother and mother would probably just dismiss it as a reflection or something and tell me to just go to bed.

Well not much else I could do. I layed down facing away from it. It seemed harmless eitherway cause all it did was look around. When I woke up the next morning, my shades were closed as I left them, but my all my doors and dresser drawers were now closed. That wasn't how I left them last night before all that happened.

I guess the question is, was I sleep walking or did it really happen? What was it if it did happen and why didn't it happen again?

I had a weird dream when i was in grade school. I woke up and I looked over to my bedroom door and there i see is a drum, the hamburger helper hand waving it's fingers, and something else that i don't remember. I wasn't scared or anything, in fact i thought that it was cool b/c the hamburger helper hand had the face on it and everything and it looked cute.

I could describe a nightmare I used to have as a child, but I fear that it's better I don't as you'll all never talk to me again for being mentally insane. (which I am not)

It used to scare the **** out of me tho and it was a reoccuring nightmare.
