Back from Playa del Carmen! The weather was wonderful (sunny and in the 80s), and the villa we rented was great...4 bedrooms/4 baths, swimming pool, on the beach, and a blender for my Bushwhackers. Paradise found.

Unfortunately, my husband couldn't wait for the photos to be developed at Snapfish.com, so he took them to a one-hour shop. I don't have a scanner, so I won't be able to show post any pics like I promised. Next time!

Now back to reality...snow and cold. Damn, I hate Wisconsin. But I have New Orleans to look forward to next month. Anyone know what the weather is like there in March?

Warm weather...bah, who needs it? http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/lol.gif

Glad to hear you had such a great time! From what I hear about the Big Easy, March should be rather mild weather-wise. Mmmm, gumbo...

When I was in New Orleans in November, it was rainy rainy rainy -- but the temperature was surprisingly mild, and warmer than up here in the Northeast. Be sure to stop by "Mother's" for lunch, atleast once, and cafe du monde. Enjoy Bourbon Street (like i did...cough cough..every..nighthttp://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/wink.gif) and have a hurricane (or two or three) for us http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/smile.gif

Cool...Just checked a site for March weather in New Orleans, and it says the daily max is 71, which is perfect. Can't wait for my first Hurricane! Tried one once at Universal Studios City Walk in Florida, but it probably wasn't as good as the "real deal" in NO. Oh...I gotta try a beignette, too (did I spell that right?)

Nap, you and KNS are NOT talking about the same thing. Think of a cool, tasty, alcoholic beverage.... There! That's more like what KNS was talking about.

Hermie> I love Wisconsin in the summer...it's the cold winters that I hate. If you're also from the upper Midwest, you know that our winters last about 6 months (half a year!). I can handle the first couple months, but by January I'm craving a more tropical, Buffett-like climate.

And why would you hate Wisconsin? It's beautiful there. I just spent last weekend there, going to the Kites On Ice festival in Madison.

Yeah, I'm about 10 minutes south of the Wisconsin border, about 45 minutes outside of Milwaukee. I agree the winter gets old after awhile, but I *never* crave tropical weather. Once it gets above 70, I'm miserably hot.

But a nice 60 degrees does sound real nice right about now.
