It's a poem for the modern age. A poem about the joys and sorrows of email.

In My Inbox by Damm

I wait each day to hear from you
My window, my light, my room with a view
I wake in the morning and look for a sign
An email waiting, a secret of yours and mine
And sometimes it's long filled with thoughts and dreams
And sometimes it's short but meaning busts through the seams

Today it was short
Overworked, sleepdeprived
Today I learn nothing
Save that you are alive

And still I write back
Though I've nothing to say
Maybe tomorrow, but not today

And I go to bed missing you
And I wake up the same
And I wait to hear from you
Joy upon sight of your name
In my inbox

Awww, Damm you really miss him huh? Poor thing, distance can be such a hassle. I hope he is doing well over there. Y'all have such a great friendship. *hug*

Fabulous Damm! I feel every emotion you emote in your writing! Beautiful!

Funny how all of the rest of us on BA see the "love" in your heart for "D", yet the two of you are blind to it! Give the guy a nudge already! LOL

I have to say I envy you your youth. Just think of all the wonderful things that await you! I would never have believed that I would be fraternizing with the enemy (pro-bilingualism radical! NOT only kidding!) I admire your steadfastness in your pursuit of a higher education. You are someone who understands delayed gratification. Have your priorities straight. So when you and "D" (and don't argue with me, I am older than you!), when you and "D" finally take off your blinders further down the road you can bring your children to this site and show them what their Mom and Dad were like when they were younger! HA HA. History and memories in the making right here at BA.

Keep writing Damm. It is good for the soul.

You're a romantic at heart Anglo.

I think in the future I can use BA to show my children what a close friendship I had with their "uncle Djeuve" even when we were young, and encourage them to find equally as loyal and caring friends. ;)

Looks like Djeuve and I might be sharing a place next year when he returns from the Orient, so there will be an end to all this missing! Yay.

You go Girl! Anyone here want to get in on a pool. How long after Djeuve and Damm share accommodations will they announce their engagement? LOL Place your bets here!

I agree with Night, I absolutely admire and envy that close relationship that you and Djeuve have, Damm. I think that the two of you living together next year spells nothing but trouble for the rest of the world!

I agree!

Unfortunately, I'm not sure if us living together is going to happen anymore. We'll see. I probably won't know until it happens.
