Just went for groceries this afternoon. I had a whole bunch of coupons I'd clipped from the Sunday newspaper with me. As I was gathering them isle by isle, I noticed no one esle seemed to have any. I did manage to save over $12.00!

It's kind of funny how much you can save - as long as you don't buy things that you normally would never buy. Like a flea collar for a dog. I don't have a dog.

That's the biggest problem I've found. The stuff I get coupons for is rarely what we need. How often do you see coupons for milk or chicken? (The whole or pieced ones, not the frozen/breaded/fast-foody stuff).

Cleaning supplies, cat food, certain dairy products, bread, bath tissue, shampoo - they all add up. True - most of the coupons are for things you don't need or want, but I keep them on me "just in case"! They have come in handy...

Purina One on the net mails you a coupon for a big bag of cat food. I got two. One per household. My cats love it! It is $10 saving!

Coupons are a waste of time because usually they only take at most a few cents to a dollar off a product. Only if it is a good offer like $1.00 off a $5.00 product would I even consider it. Even then I would say "am I just going to buy it because of the coupon; do I really need this?". But if I'm going to buy the product that their is a coupon for I probably use it. I just feel poor/cheap when I use them.

Save your pennies and your dollars will take care of themselves. Every cent counts, Chris!

Indeed true. I just don't see a few coupons saving me that much money. I wonder if cutting out coupons from news papers and collecting them is really worth all that effort?

As I said in an earlier post, I saved over $12.00 on my grocery bill this week.

Well then it doesn't work for me the same way that it works for you then.
