I know some of you think I am a freak for this, but yes I do believe in them and no I will not tell why. I am definatly a life long believer though.

I believe in ghosts because of my familys experience with them. I, thank God, havent had any experiences and I hope I never will.

nope...all that i've ever seen related to ghosts can be easily explained away by science. i'm usually pretty open-minded about paranormal dealies (actually getting less so with my advanced age lol), but ghosts are just too "out there".

I believe in ghosts. When my grandmother's brother, my great uncle, died, I went to move in with my grandmother's sister, my great aunt. Aunt Nilda decided I would get her mother's room. My grandmother always told me that her mother would sit in the rocking chair and rock as she looked out the window of my room. She liked to watch people and cars go by.
I was alone in the house at the time, Aunt Nilda loved to walk around the neighborhood. At her age, it was quite a feat, but she insisted. Since it was just me and Aunt Nilda living in the large old house, and she was out walking, there is no doubt that I was alone in the house. I walked into my room and it was moving. It was rocking. The rocking chair was slowly rocking, back and forth, back and forth. Suddenly, it stopped. It did not slowly come to a halt, as a rocking chair normally would when someone gets up: it stopped... dead.
I can not, for the life of me, find any other explanation other than my Great Grandmother was not aware that I had just taken over her old room. She was rocking in her chair, in her room, just as she always did. It only happened that once: my great grandmother had no desire to scare or trouble me. Once she knew I was there, she gave up her room to me, and I was grateful.
Stories like this are always questionably... except when they happen to you. It happened to me, and I experienced it. I believe in ghosts.

ok so i decided i would share some of my "ghost stories"
first one i can remember is a house we lived in that is in WI i was about 4 or 5 anyway the house was an old trading post at one time and at night i would see people walking around most of them i didnt like "they were bad" although the ones in my parents room looked like they were made of mud and they were nice.
(i finally told my mom about this, this year and she told me they moved my room to every room in the house and no matter what they did i had nightmares.)
then another house i would see shadows
then after friends have past away i have seen them.
then there are the nice little spooks at work, they like to knock spatchulas off the grill and send them flying at me. they usually land behind me right by my feet

The last house I lived in, I shared my bedroom with a young girl that had passed there. I only actually saw her once. Just as I was waking up, I saw her bending over my dresser like she was writing a note. She liked to tilt my pictures on the wall just to let me know she was there. I'd be in bed reading, straighten a frame, lay back down, look up 15 minutes later, and it would be crooked the other direction... without anyone else in the house to slam a door or something to make it move.
If I didn't beleive in ghosts, I'd have no reason to go on... so many people to haunt.....

Good to see you again MrsD. I am a firm believer in the supernatural and in ghosts. I have seen the ghost of a lady who was the original owner of my home in Pittsburgh. My cat and dog would react to her presence. They liked her!
Too me she was a welcomed friendly spirit although I have had acquaintances who didn't like the idea of a resident ghost. Funny that, since the ones that didn't accept her were the very ones who turned out to be not as honest in their dealing with me as I had thought. Perhaps my house guest "Hannah"(from the first moment I walked into the 13 room house, I felt there was a "Hannah" present) was more attuned to their deception then I was and was protecting me! One never knows.
One day I noticed initials in the moisture on the mirror after a shower. Holding another mirror to the initials I saw that they read HEB. Months later I was researching court documents at the court house and for the heck of it I looked up the name of the original owner of my property. The home was built in the early 30's and although not common for that time it was owned by a woman - Hannah Elizabeth B (I will not disclose the last name for privacy reasons. I will say it is a German name and leave it at that). There was also a news article that I researched. Without looking at the names of the people in the group picture, I scanned the faces and rightly identified my "Hannah".
Yes, Virgina, there are ghosts!
I can't really explain why I beleive in ghosts, or better yet spirits. Maybe it's because I WANT to. I just beleive they're there, for whatever reason they need to be.
By the way - thank you for the welcome back, Irish. It's good to be here again.

This is kinda cold, but it's how I feel:
She died, and it's a big deal. Yet when my brother died, he wasn't known and all the local newspaper did was blame him ((for speeding, which a cop even said he didn't do)). God, It's not so tragic that some porn star died, Stop talking about famous people's deaths, It's annoying. Announce it once and be done, if they were to announce daily deaths in the USA, it would be the only channel with a show that goes on forever.
