OK, I am working on a newsletter called: "Positive Happenings", and wondering how important it is to you to hear about the positive things in live other then the negative. It is my belief that focusing on the positive helps keep people health, by helping the immune system fight illness. I have done research and it has been proven that when you are ill and you think negatively that your body not only has to fight the illness, but it also has to fight those negative feelings. It is my belief that looking at the positive would allow more of the immune system to fight the illness, with better results. Now to see what some of you think about this theory.

I had to go undecided because Yes, it should have its own newsletter, it provides stress relief and No, because it gives a false view of the world around us. I think it just depends on how sugar coated it is.

Yeah yeah I know, this frickin middle of the road kills me sometimes.

i don't know that it would provide and stress relief...but it would be nice to read something devoted to happiness. it can't really be giving a false view of the world if the stuff that's in it is part of the world can it? constant bad news in that case would also give a false impression because on a daily basis a LOT of good things happen.

I agree that positive feelings do increase the body's immune system. To quote "Laughter is the best medicine". Your plan for a positive newsletter is a good one, ajdean. I wish you the best!

I'm like msutang, No because it'd be sugar coating...but then again it is a good thing because hardly anyone focuses on the good things anymore

I'm with Rascal on this one. It's not a false impression of the world if the events actually happened. Mind you, I don't read newspapers or watch news shows, because they're too depressing. I get all my news from my friends, or by scanning headlines. Plus, I laugh at everything. A friend once told me, "if laughter is the best medicine, you're the healthiest person I know."

I want to see someone actually acknowledge the GOOD things that are happening in the world. You know, like, the unprecedented humanitarian effort going on in Iraq. They hundreds of schools, clinics, police and fire stations, hospitals, and cell towers that are being constructed by our troops in that country. Its an absolutely amazing story. Never before has such a huge humanitarian effort been done by a military organization, its one of the biggest ever accomplished but no one ever talks about it. I suppose good news on the war is bad news for the opponents.

AJDean, how is the newsletter coming along? Will it be on the Net or in paper print? do all of us on BA get a complimentary issue? Have you asked for contributers for articles? Twenty questions 16 more to go! LOL

Not sure if I answered this or not, I have an issue that is almost finished. I am going to have a print issue, as well as an online teaser issue, via email. The problem is getting articles and other things to add to the newsletter to keep it going, if anyone wishes to help that would be great. The newsletter is free, donations accepted, but not expected. Willing to mail issues to anyone wanting them, even if its on me, I believe that the other side of this world has to be shown. This will only lead to understanding of the whole picture, also if you don't know both then you are missing 50% of the world around you. Sorry for the long delay, been busy lately trying to get my website up and running. Also selling on Amazon, eBay, Pricegrabber and working on an actual store which is located on my site. Anyway, hope this helps and if I did along time ago answer this hope that the newest release reflects the current developments on this important project that I am working on.

I intend on staying around, my membership is due to expire in July and I plan on donating more to this great site. The people are great and the enviroment is great for debating, unlike some sites that turn ugly. I hope to one day, if I am blessed to be a bigger part of the site, but time will tell. Currently working on my website and "Positive Happenings", starting to avoid selling on Amazon. In my opinion Amazon takes too much, you have to sell things way above retail prices just to pay their fees. Anyway, will save that for another time and another thread.

Well glad you are sticking around and its great that you can donate. Your website sounds like a great website also. I never knew Amazon was so expensive sometimes we order things from that website.

Amazon is alright to sell books, but once you get to electronics they take 15%, which really makes it hard not to go over the Suggested Retail Price. Like I said before I plan on making a post on this at a later date about this issue. Currently I am busy working on my Positive Happenings Newsletter then I will hopefully findout what works and what needs to be improved.
