What season do like the best?

Well, here we don't really have seasons, they all just kinda blend together. It's just either HOT or COLD. I prefer hot seeing as I can go into A/C. I hate the cold, it makes me hurt. And if you pile on the clothes it make sit harder to do anything. BUT I loooooove snow, go figure.

I loooooove winter. Its so wonderful! There are no bugs (read: spiders), and it is sooo much easier to keep warm than to keep cold. And I like keeping rather cold. Plus there is tobogganing, and no one blames you for wanting to stay inside due to the weather.
ie:
in winter: darn it, its WAAY too cold. *everyone agrees*
in summer: darn it, its WAAY too bright outside. *everyone laughs in your face*

I like the Autumn, when the weather gets crisp and everything seems to quiet down; perfect time for a nice hike up in the mountains... I like winter too, for many of the same reasons, but overall, I think Autumn wins for me

Spring is yucky (at least where i live)...everything meling and dirty...grass and mud mix together...not pretty. Summer, well, I'm not good at enduring the heat.

I like Autumn. I think it's the most beautiful time of year. It seems the most peaceful as well. It's perfect weather, not too hot and not too cold. I'm always happy to be alive in autumn. Autumn can be beautiful when you are happy, or melancholy when you are sad...it always understands.

Spring is just gross. Smells of the dog poo that's thawing. Summer has thunderstorms, but that's the only thing I like about it. Winter is nice, because it's beautiful and you can be cozy in your house...but I still like Autumn the best, because you are comfortable both indoors and outdoors equally.

It's definitley summer for me! I live on a beautiful lake with tons of great friends all around - we LOVE to boat - I'm a sun person - love the feel of it, how everything is so bright and beautiful! Winter is just a horrible time for me. It just never seems to end...

winter for sure. see pink's post, she took the words out of my mouth *shakes fist* ...i will add that skiing is awesome and snowboarders are lazy and the bane of my existance lol. also snow angels, walks in the fresh falling snow, catching a snowflake on your tongue, and sitting fireside with a good movie are all awesome. i'll refrain from bashing other seasons ;).

Winter. I love the cold, I hate, and I mean HATE! hot weather it drives me mad, plus I lvoe being able to walk down the street with no one around because there all too wussy to come out in the cold, plus snow gotta love it.

Unfortunetly I don't ever get to go on skiing holidays because the rest of the family hate winter and love summer...sigh.

I just can't win here :P

OMG - I'm sorry everyone - I can't IMAGINE anyone preferring winter - it's so awful, dingy and depressing. I do everythig I can right after Christmas to bring color, brightness and LIFE to my surroundings - I have dinner parties with colorful flowers and accessories - including strapless dresses - bright music and LIGHTS - I HATE darkness..... I sleep only because I MUST - If it were up to me, I'd be awake and moving for every second of daylight. Too bad I'm so damned TIRED all the time....

Ah, MrsD...but Winter is peaceful and beautiful. The calmness of night can be overwhelmingly serene, and the cold makes one appreciate the comforts of home all the more. A true snowfall feels like divine magic. As Blue Rodeo says, "I stand transfixed before this streetlight, watching the snow fall on this cold december night."

But I do understand your need for colour...though, I get that more in the spring, when I think that if I see any more brown I'm going to lose it! :p

Oh my goodness, Damm - Winter is the time when poor little match girls die in the street of starvation and cold, all alone - when the homeless (who are all around us) suffer the most, and have no home for the Holidays and no hope for a future - when the underprivileged struggle for help to pay their bills and feed and clothe their children - winter, my friend means desolation and unpleasantness - the only people who benefit from the cold, bitter winter are people who can afford the trip South or who go skiing in a resort and are very happy about it.

That's why we give our homeless arctic sleeping bags! Haha!

Well, I could point out that in the summer, old people die of heat exhaustion, historical buildings are struck by lightening and burned to the ground, and in the spring rivers overflow destroying homes and drowning people...(that is happening here in the summer too out west) and in the Autumn...well, I'm sure people die in the Autumn too...rogue falling leaves must play a part :p)

But, I perfer to judge a season on the beauty of it, not the unfortunate circumstances of our failing societies. Though, if you must include such things, at least Winter reminds us of what is important in life, and makes us treasure and appreciate our blessings rather than our shortcomings.

But perhaps, MrsD, you and I are destined to never agree on the seasons, which is ok...if everyone was only happy in one season of the year what a horrible life it would be!

ALRIGHT, DAMM! And this is only because I love your little Canadian being so much - let's share Autumn together -

I need to tell you that I am a host "Mom" to a BC Canadian this summer (she's from Victoria) and I just adore her! She's 23 and has been working for us for a year - I will truly miss this young lady, and hope to forever be in contact with her and her family!!
I know very well about our elderly not handling the hot weather well; just abpot as badly as they handle the extreme cold. I know every well all about the downside of living in a warm climate - I'd trade the troubles for the cold any day!!!

Autumn by far. It's a great time of the year in New York, and the entire Northeast! The weather cools down, you can wear shirts in the daytime and a jacket at night. Sleeping is a joy. The trees turn amazing colors. The bug population becomes less pesky. You know the holidays are approaching. Kids are in school. Definitely the best!

I'd agree with ya Moose if only I could be a kid again!!! I'm "of age, y'know" (translation = Celtic, OLD!) Me bones git teered at te enge o' the day!

So - when are you coming up here for our INCREDIBLE fairs?!!? The first and most prestigious is the Goshen Fair the weekend of Labor Day - the following week is the Bethlehem Fair and the week after that is the Harwinton Fair. I think it's he best and biggest is the Durham Fair, in Durham, CT. Let me know what you'd like to sign up for.

I still love winter above all seasons, but like damm only because of the way it looks and feels. I don't like it because many die from the cold. But then again as you said in summer more people die from the heat and lack of water.

I don't really like spring it's all muddy and mushy lol! but autumns cool. I used to love it when I was a kid and walking through the leaves. Luckily I can still get away with it and I bet I'll still be doing when I'm old lol!

rascal's official ranking of the seasons:
1. winter: snow is too beautiful. a friendly snowball fight erupts anywhere at any time. you can go skating and skiing. keeping warm is easy. snow angels, fresh light snowfalls, fireplaces, and no bugs are all awesome. it's a shame that homeless struggle in the winter, but there are shelters that they could use if they wanted to.
2. autumn: awesome weather for playing soccer, there is a slight chill in the air and the humidity is gone so you can breathe. the leaves changing colours are beautiful.
3. summer: too bloody humid! and where i live there is bad pollution, so when the temperature gets over 27C-29C it become oppresive and stepping foot outside feels like you are swimming (and that's like 75% of the summer). it's impossible to stay cool when you are outside of your house. too many days i will step outside my door and within 5 minutes of walking be drenched in sweat.
4. spring: stupid spring. it rains all the time. i hate the rain. that's my only real complaing. i can't really think of anything good about it either :p

I'm not bitter...I jsut don't like large groups of people whom I don't know.

I'm not exactly sure why I'm not afraid of it it jsut annoys me, the only time it's ok is at concerts etc.

But I love winter because it's earth at it's most beautiful

I dunno, Nighty - winter is depressing. I think I have a light deprivation disorder or something. Everything is just ugly.

Rascal

could just be SAD mrsd (Seasonal Affective Disorder... http://www.outsidein.co.uk/sadinfo.htm seems like a good site for more info). lots of people become depressed when there is less light than normal. the one and only one thing that i dislike about winter is the lack of sun. i get up before the sun and it's just rising as i get to work. then when i leave the sun is setting and is almost down before i get home. in my old office i had no window, so i literally didn't see the sun for 4 months. but there's just something so pure and innocent about the winter. the fresh snow crunching under your feet as you walk around. slipping on an icy patch and looking around to make sure no-one saw you, and if they did making it look like you did it on purpose. catching a snowflake on your tongue. bundling up in layer after layer of clothes :). i love it all! lol.

You're right, Rascal. I can barely stand myself when I haven't seen sunshine or light in any given amount of time. LIKE TODAY!!!! ISN'T IT JULY, FER CHRISSAKES???:eusa_doh: I'm very sensitive to that. I'll even take a sunny but snowy day - I'll admit.... it's SORTA pretty....:eusa_whis
