Hello Finity http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/smile.gif Is it clay? Do you do ceramics? Cause I know those can explode in a kiln. Eitherway, I'm sorry to hear that http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/frown.gif I hope it turns out better for you next time you try.

Sorry Finity! I know how much that project meant to you, esp. after the first one exploded. By the way, did you ever settle things with your teacher? The piece was beautiful, at least she is aware of your talent?!http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/smile.gif

settle what with my teacher?
and thanx
I was just referring to your other post in Sept. You sounded stressed and you wanted to talk to your teacher or something - I can't recall exactly.

That did look nice. Sorry it exploded. http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/frown.gif One thing my little brother used to do is stick his projects in the oven with the light on (and the door cracked) for several days. It'd get around 100-120 degrees in there to help it dry out better. I know nothing about pottery, so I don't know if it'll help you, but I thought I'd throw it out there anyway.
Good luck.

awww, Fin, that's too bad to hear -- I throw and sculpt pretty often -- the problem is that you must not be kneeding the clay enough before you start to sculpt it -- make sure to kneed it for atleast a good 5-10 minutes, by pressing your knuckles into it, rolling it back, and pressing (not folding! you get internal bubbles that way!) the sides inwards. Hope that all future projects go smoothly -- and if you're ever afraid there might be bubbles in one of your pieces, be sure to give it its own fire, without any other pieces in the kiln. Good luck! http://www.aliensoup.com/ubb/smilies/smile.gif

kns!! where ja been baby?
its not kneading, but called wedging in throwing
and the air bubbles dont matter if there it no watter in them. if there is watter, it boils and makes the piece explode. i let the piece dry out for a week so i dont understand how there could be!! ahhh
i will tho
thanx for the advice
