(Fantasy) Which race is best?

OK, before we flood other forums with this, let's make it a debate...

Dwarves are the best race. They are sturdy, no-nonesence people who are defensive in nature and mind their own business.

Dwarves have a natural resistance to magic so they don't need to worry about that too much.

Have a Dwarf Fighter against a puny Elf wizard, and see how long that wizard lasts!

Men are a close second because of their versatility.

As for elf archers, sure they are pretty good if they can hide up in their little trees, but get them in close range, or even indoors, and bye bye elf archer.

Elves can take a sip of their watered down piss-water wine and feel fine, but when it gets to the real, HARD stuff like spirits, Elves don't stand a chance against a Dwarf's consitution.

A Dwarf will beat an elf in a drinking competition ANY day.

As for men (humans), it depends on the person..as I said, human's strenght is versatility...

And it is possible that the director of LotR also had a bias towards elves... Making a Dwarf lose like that for a movie...THAT'S RACIST!!! :p

I can assure you, by whatever fluke Legolas seemed to win (probably cheating with magic or some such elvish trickery), a Dwarf would normally have won, hands down.

Ok, well, now imagine a DWARVEN healer. Tough to kill and keeps others alive. A perfect combination.

Elven healers would be down the second they were injured, and it's not useful to have your healer not last the battle...

They rock! really strong magics and then a big staff to attack I mean come on thats ssssoooo cool, sometimes they know healing too so I'm sticking with black mages :)

Hmmm... I didn't intend to get classes mixed in all this, but m'eh, it fits the thread ;)

Wizards are only useful if they have some backup to protect them. Throw a wizard in the middle of a pack of puny goblins and watch the poor guy get EATEN.

Put a Dwarf to smash enemies around the wizard and protect him/her, and you've got a pretty good team.

Otherwise Wizard sucks :p

lol, as long as classes are getting thrown in here too...go rangers! and druids! they are hardcore...well druids not so much, but rangers are hardcore. whirling dirvishes of swords and bows and with a respect for nature? can't beat that.

For classes, I like Monks/Martial Artists (mostly because I like the thought of using your own body as a weapon...TRY DISARMING ME NOW, DUELIST!)

Cleric/healers are ok, too, since I generally like to keep my more impulsive friends alive.

Bards...well...g'ah...I'd rather have an Elven politician than any sort of bard around me...

not really even with protect they would get hit and it would only be eual to the defence of heavy hitters mages have fewer hp than heavy hitters so they would still be toast and lose a turn in the process

Pfft... Protections last for a limited amount of time, and there are very few that protect you completely from everything. There is always a way to get that Wizard hiding behind his magic shield... :evil1:

My favorite characer I have ever ran was Grom Thomber my dwarven priest of Kord. His whole object in life was to spread chaos and start fights. Every town he went to he would go to the bar and get everyone fighting!!!! He was Chaotic Neutral, it was sooooo fun.

No. Elves are NOT better than humans.

They are better at certain things, like archery, but in the grand scale they are equal. Same goes for most standard races...

But I still think Dwarves' advantages are best. Especially since I don't care too much for magic or appearances.
