How many people go to tanning salons? There's the annual "push" by dermatologists to stay away from them, but to tell the truth, I've been rolling the idea to go around in my mind. I'm a definite sun worshipper, and love to be tanned! What does everyone think?

Ugh, i stay away from cancer booths.:nono:

I've heard once or twice is okay, but multiple visits... not for me
If i wanted cancer, i'd start smoking cigarettes :smiley_aa :D

I go to tanning booths. Not necessarily frequently but in the spring I go so I get a little bit of a tan. Then I don't fry in the summer.

To fry now, or to fry later on... that is the question.

I'm off to the Bahamas in a couple of weeks and thought I'd need a bit of a starter tan - truth be told, I just don't have the time to go to a tanning salon. Guess I'll take my chances in a couple of weeks. I do love a good tan, though...

Couple of reasons I don't go - I never have any TIME to go, and my skin is so fair I'd FRY!! When I'm in the sun I use a 30 or 45! I have enough freckles now, thank you very much!:)

Lol im not old enough to go to a tanning salon but even if I was older I wouldn't go Im like Scarlett fair so I'd go red than anything else

But yea a few visits are ok but like M@broz said you could get cancer from lots of visits :) not worth it really.

I guess I'll just do what I do every year - spend my time in the sun. Besides - I could put the money spent in a tanning booth towards a new swim suit!

I have my own tanning bed and I only use it on important occasions...such as my Senior Prom (April 30th!) and beach trips!! :eusa_ange

It seems like out here on Long Island, Tanning Salons/Parlors are everywhere you look. Is it just a local phenomenon out here?

oh, no, jaws - they're EVERYWHERE! Now nail salons are expanding and offering tanning booths as well as almost every hairdresser in the county! What gets me is they're all busy!

Wow. On my recent trip back home to Ohio, tanning booths were present, but they were much, much more sporadic. Here on the Island, it's like you can't turn around without seeing another tanning place!

If I want a tan, I'll go outside on a nice day, and I'll get one because I forget sunscreen. That's how I do it.

No way, I would rather stay pale than take the risk.
