YAHOO!!! Thank you, Webmaster!!!!

Anyone read a great book that they'd like to share information about? Who's your favorite author?

I read "The Bingo Palace" by Louise Erdrich some time ago, but LOVED it so much I just can't get it out of my head. I think it's the best book I ever read (aside from "Wrinkle in Time" by the fabulous Madeleine L'Engle. EVERY kid should read this book - it should be a prerequisite to "growing up"!!;) )

"The Bingo Palace" is set in a modern-day Indian reservation, where of course the main event is gambling, particularly Bingo. The characters are SO real, descriptions of time and place SO clear that you feel the emotions and thoughts of the characters. This book is DEFINITELY Four Stars +!!

Just kidding! hehehehe Have not read much of late. Not sure how much input I will contribute to this forum, but I am sure there are plenty of avid readers out there!

My favorite author is Patricia Cornwell but I haven't read much lately. Maybe I'll start again!

ScarlettO - I like Patricia Cornwell, too. I think I have all but two of her books. Which book have you read most recently?

Hey Nova - don't you read at all to Little Nova? I'm sure there will be someone looking for a good suggestion for a book to read to a little basher -

Anyone else read Running with Scissors by Augusten Burroughs? It's a really well-written autobiographical account of a severely disfunctional childhood. The sequel, Dry, which is about his struggle with alcoholism and drug abuse in his adulthood, is also really good. I tried reading those Dan Brown suspense novels and they were good for the most part, except that the endings were incredibly unrealistic and disappointing.
