Jalepenos/onions on a steak & cheese sandwich

I choose the jalepenos because they give the sanwich that extra punch it needs. Onions just make my breath funky and make the sandwich taste funny.

A steak and cheese sandwich isn't a steak and cheese without the jalepenos.

I just can't choose jalapenos, not on a steak & cheese sammich or sub. I'd have to choose onions. I'd rather order a steak that's smothered in grilled onions than one with a side of jalapenos; I'd rather order a burger with onions than with jalapenos; and while jalapenos are good with other meat-type foods (see tacos for example) when it comes to *steak* foods, onions are the hands-down winner.

I'm no fan of the funky onion breath either - which is why if they're fried or grilled, they're delicious on a sandwich.

I *like* jalapenos, tho - no, let me take that back - I *love* them - but I just can't fathom eating them on a steak & cheese sub or sammich. If the sammich is done right, it's got enough flavor in it & doesn't need any extra kick.

I agree. People who eat onions nonstop tend not to have things like girlfriends or boyfriends.... Now, if someone could genetically cross an onion with a tic-tac, THEN we would be in business!

I gotta go with Poss on this one. Provided it's a *good* steak and cheese sandwich, then it has enough flavor kick from bell peppers. Go onions! Although, I do enjoy jalepenoes on quite a few things.

I agree with Poss and Mth. I like a spicy sandwich with Jalepenos but I choose onions on my steak and cheese sandwich.

Beaker, it has been noted that onions do cause bad breath but that includes all spicy foods, including Jalepenos. This being that they contain sulfur by-products.

Sorry, I go with jalepenos and onions. I like them both, especially on hamburgers, pizza, and a good steak & cheese sandwich.
