After almost 20 months of engagement, I passed a milestone this morning that I wasn't really prepared for.
When people asked about when I was getting married, it was always "next year", then it was "next May", followed by "in May".
Then, more recently, it was "next month", then "end of the month", and then "in 3 weeks", followed by "in two weeks", and most recently "next week".
This morning, one of the guys at work asked me, "So, when are you getting married?", and before I even realized the impact of the words about to leave my mouth, the response came out "Sunday."
Hard to believe that it's already here, and happening within a matter of days. I just wasn't prepared for the closeness of that word. Even when it was "next week", it seemed far away, but when you're naming the day of the week, and you're in THAT week, there's really no escaping the reality of how close that really is.
