i like q2 ten times better
and i'll choose unreal over it too
i liked q3test a lot but i really hate arena ;\

Seriously, if you like deathmatching, buy it. It's old enough now that the price is reasonable.
I, personally, like Unreal Tournament (not Unreal) better. Better maps, larger environments, better weapons, and what just generally feels like better gameplay.

I do own both, and still play both frequently. I like both in different ways.
